It was a Cessna 208B Grand Caravan EX and the pilot is reported to have had 30k hours.

30k hrs on an autopilot has no bearing on how to fly a floatplane. Dummy hit the bridge 9 seconds into a the takeoff run. Stupidity verging on criminal

I certainly wouldn't want to be so close to a bridge during a take off run on a maiden flight....derrrr!
