Here's a dumb question:

Can you upgrade 520's to 550's in the above? Has anyone tried?

I know of experience this makes a big difference in the 210, I'm just wondering if it would be at all possible in the 400 twins.

Probably possible, (there's a turboprop conversion for C340's), but to my knowledge, there are no engine conversion STC's. Ram Aircraft has performance upgrades for 402, 414, 421, but none for the 401 listed, but it might be worth sending them a query. I would guess that it has to do with the small 401 fleet numbers and associated low demand as the reason nobody has developed a conversion.
