The owner needs to look at the days a year he is likely to fly probably the day rate for a Piston multi engine pilot would be £150-£200 a day plus expenses
Does the pilot need to look after the aircraft for him as there maybe a charge for that too?
The owner needs to work out his estimated usage and requirement for that pilots services before deciding whether to employ him or pay him as a freelance pilot on a day rate.
Also check his experience levels and licences on twins and make sure he holds a commercial licence as his twin time will impact the insurance as well as his own safety.
My guess is a day rate
