Question FAA Part 91 Subpart F "aircraft operator" definition

Need some help:

How does the FAA view aircraft management companies as they relate to FAA Part 91 Subpart F?
Are aircraft management companies considered the “operator”?
Is the owner, or corporate entity owner, of the aircraft also considered an “operator”?

Main question: Can an owner/corporation employing an aircraft management company still be considered the operator of the aircraft in order to utilize 91.501(b)(5)?

Would also appreciate any relevant Legal Interpretations/Chief Counsel's Opinion references if available. Although 119.53(c) “operational control” definition is reasonably straight forward, 1.1 definition of “operator” is quite broad. Part 91 doesn’t seem to clarify the definition of operator for that part.

Appreciate the help!
