747-SP Bournemouth

Hi All,

Just to confirm, the 747-18 is housed in the Cobham Hangar. The owner (un disclosed) has recently acquired a 747-400 this will be shortly housed in Hangar 12 which has recently been extended ? More to follow.

VP-BAT used to (and may still) belong to the former Amir of Qatar. IIRC he was deposed by his son while he was on holiday. I'm told he spent $40,000 on a gyroscopic bed, stays level while aircraft is turning. Marvelous

If It was $40,000 then it was well cheap...... a simple shower on a Biz Jet costs in region of $1M upward. A decent double bed about the same price I would think.. never mind a Gyro stabilized one!

Tray Surfer,

You asked about the B747-8I BBJ to be based and the current B747-SP at Bournemouth, Hurn Airport.

It is a confidential operation but I may be able to help you out with who to contact for a position with them. What type of position are you looking for and what is your background?

If you would like to PM me with your details etc I will contact the party concerned directly and pass on your details to them if they are interested.

Kind regards,

VAMY.

I wonder if this is the aircraft currently sitting in LFSB awaiting a test flight.

VQ-BSK just arrived at Bournemouth. Very impressive.

Anyone know what is going to happen to VP-BAT?

A gyro stabilised bed that stayed level while the plane was turning would be bloody annoying as it would chuck you out of one side or the other.
