Anyone used fromer RAF Bentwaters runway for convenience visit

I was speaking to the former member of the Suffolk Police Air Support Unit (ASU) back at Helitech 2009 and our conversation turned to Benrwaters. Yes its not been used as an airbase since the early 90s when the USAFE pulled out and on the odd year recently the owners have graciously held the odd mini airshow with classic warbirds present and the odd RAF SAR Force Sea King from Wattisham. There have been visits by the AAC Longbow Apache force from there as well.

Back to the conversation at hand, the ex Police Observer said to me that Benwwaters has been used by corporate jets because some business folk who say have their companies around the Ipswich area don't fancy the idea of landing at EGSC or STN any of the other London airports or Norwich paying fees and traveling on the A or M roads to get to that area. It is a risk as Benrtwaters does not have any airfield firefighting support or let alone JET A1 to hand.

Out of interest has anyone used Bentwaters to drop off / pick up client for convenience sake?

Cheers

Bizjets use Dunsfold on the same basis ie unlicensed, no fire service/ATC etc (although there is fuel there) so there is a precedent, but it depends what your insurance company say and if you're carrying passengers ie not company employees, what the CAA say.
