Job opportunites for Heli and Fixed wing rated people??
I'm in the process of completing my CPL(H) to go along side my ATPL(A). Do many companies employ people who can fly both sorts of machines. I'd like to keep flying both Choppers and fixed wing if possible.
Does it happen?? And if so who are they?

Sterling Helicopters and Air Charter at Norwich operate both. Helicopter pilots tend to need plenty of experience (ie be ex mil) to be taken on cos of the restrictions placed by the various contracts. Good luck in the job hunt.

Westair at Shannon have a variety of corporate jets (125s, Gulfstreams, Citations etc) and also some helis (B407 I think).
Markoss Aviation at Biggin Hill operate a 125-700 and a Agusta 109.
Your problem will probably be low heli experience, as I'm sure you realise, unless you have a lot of turbine time under a PPL(H).
Good luck

Thanks for the replies. I will only have the bare minimum of Heli-time. Around 135 hrs when I finally finish the CPL(H), so I can't see too many corporate guy's jumping for me straight away!! Though I suppose you never know!

Hi,
I just passed my CPL(H) GFT today (hooray!). I'm at a pure heli (JAA) school in Florida - Bristow helicopters old training arm essentially.
View of most of us is that, as a civvie, doing the time in the North Sea opens up the other opportunities (SAR, EMS etc). If you're competing for a VIP shuttle job with someone who's got 3000+ hours IFR/IMC in the North Sea - who's going to get the job?
Unfortunately, North Sea recruitment doesn't look too hot right now.
