Transition CL 601 <-> CL 604/605

HI all.

Trying to collect more information about this matter, fragmented answers looking around:
1_ 'legal' transition from JAA/EASA Challenger CL601 to -> CL604/605 type ratings
Possible: YES [ ] NO [ ]
Diff. course: THEORY [ ] SIM [ ]
Where: CAE [ ] FS [ ]
approx. cost: [ ]

2_ vice-versa
transition from JAA/EASA Challenger CL604/605 to -> CL601 type ratings
Possible: YES [ ] NO [ ]
Diff. course: THEORY [ ] SIM [ ]
Where: CAE [ ] FS [ ]
approx. cost: [ ]

thank you in advance!!
have a good day.

601 to 604/605 visa versa

For your info, 601 is a completely different type rating to the 604/605
You cannot to a differences course from 601 to 604/605
You can do differences from 604 to 605.
I paid $5k a few years ago.
Cost at Bombardier for initial approx $40k for 605 rating, either dallas or montreal plus flights/hotac for around a month, add another $10k if your coming from europe.Dont forget TSA stuff applies.
604/605 to 601 same stuff, completely different rating so you will have to do an initial course.
601 Sim with FS montreal or Tuscon AZ. no idea of the cost but isn,t going to be cheap.
Good luck

ROLLER STAMP -> thanks a lot , plenty of infos.

I have the opportunity to join a charter company ,
having in their fleet both CL601 that CL604.

Is the CL601 already obsolete or less diffused all around or could still it be a good investment for the future ,in your opinion ?

thank you!

bye .

The 601 is "obsolete" as production ceased almost two decades ago.

601

There are still a few around.
I used to fly one in stansted,it's based in Luton now & on an AOC.they were looking for pilots.
Hangar 8 have a few & there was one in Italy where you are that rang me a few times in the past looking for cover.
I wouldn't invest in a 601 rating yourself as its too much money & it's an obsolete plane like max says.
The 604 is also obsolete but there are lots of them around.
if your going to pay for a rating go for the 605 & do the 604 differences course.
All this is speculating as I'm sure you know.
I'm rated on all of them & the global,it's your call if you have a current rating then there is a chance of getting a job.

Sorry if I'm enquiring about the CL300,,

do you know how much does it cost approximately a JAA Type Rating ,
and if you know any operators in Europe to get a base training ?
Is completely different from the 605 in terms of cost , range , widespread ?
thanks in advance.

601 JAA

Hi all!

Iīm flying a Challenger 601 under FAA licence, in my initial course I did JAA check but my company was unable to find a Challenger 601 with JAA registration and also a TRI to perform the base training and get the rating in my JAA (thatīs what they told me... ).

Anyone can help with some info?

Thanks
