AVCON - Cannes
I came across an ad in Flight International for a CJ1 Skipper with Avcon in Cannes but there is no address, e-mail, phone or fax attached to the ad.
Can anyone help with their contact details?
Also, I am rated on the C500/501. Is the CJ1 a completely different rating or a simple conversion?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Try to check www.avcon.ch.
To fly on CJ1 you need a C525 type rating which is a completely different one from the C500/550/560 rating.

The statement about the C560XL (Excel) being separate from the C500/550/560 is not completely correct. If you have the C500/550/560 type rating you only need to complete differences training and possibly (depending on your CAA) a checkride in the 560XL to be able to operate it.
There is a company in sweden (I belive - Malmo!?), Inter Air, who operates Ciatations and that, I have been told, is the way they do it.

C560 Excel
With respect Will, it is a new type.
Cessna tried very hard to convince the FAA that it needed only a "Differences" course to be conducted but as from Oct last year the FAA, our CAA and JAA all agreed it was to be a "New Type" with attendant courses and LST to be conducted. I know as I managed to get my course done just before the cutoff date. I was also lucky enough to get TRI/TRE status on it shortly afterwards.
