Learjet 45 air intake
What is the purpose of the air intake on the vertical stabilizer in the Learjet 45? I have been searching for the answer in the flightsafety PTM book although it only says it is a ram air inlet. The ECU has a scoop next to the dorsal air intake so I assume it's not for the ECU. Does anyone know? Thanks.

The dorsal inlet is indeed for ram air. This slightly pressurises the tail cone/ baggage bay. If this pressure exceeds the cabin pressure then this air will enter and ventilate the cabin via the ecs plenum check valves.
The scoop is for the ecu heat exchangers.
Hope this helps

Ram Air
Yo Folks,
The Lear ram air intake above the empennage, if you care to look in the rear bay door, you will see that the ram air provides cooling air to components in there. There is no direct ducting to any one component other than to atmosphere in that area.
