Citation II EC-IBA down in Santiago LEST

This morning a Citation I reg EC-IBA crashed one km short of the runway in Santiago de Compostela LEST. Both pilots did not survived

The aircraft was returning to home base from a transplant flight during the night from Asturias, there was heavy fog in the area.

The transplant patient received a new heart who was delivered from Porto, Portugal, he has survived surgery and recovering positively.

Rest in Peace

Looks like wrong altimeter setting or defective altimeter, we will have to wait for the investigation.

Interesting how the 'private ops vs aoc ops' debate only heats up when something happens to a private aircraft.

The sad reality is that things can at times go wrong on both sides of the fence. Let's see what the investigation concludes.
