Tobruk?

Mate of mine wants to visit Tobruk in his CJ1 (?!). I told him that I haven't the faintest idea if it's feasible or not. Said I would ask you lot............. :-)
Any experiences of where to fly and problems etc at "Tobruk International" (if it exists).
Thanks,
Jez

tobruk

hello -

i have been to tobruk (HLGN) in 2009 with a CL30

i remember, there where no approach charts or instrument approaches available - just a GPS coordinate by handling in HLLM (Tripolis) (and i think there was a nearby waypoint on the enroute chart)
pure vfr flying - lots of dust-strips for petro industry in vicinity.

at least three crossing runways, but only one useable - lots of migs parking around, and narrow taxiways and arrestor cables.
