At least IFR enroute charts on iPad in Eupe

This is news of a day. While there is plenty of helpful iPad apps for IFR planning for US, there is no way, howto display IFR charts in Europe.

Jeppesen shloud introduce FliteStar like app for iPad soon. I hope they will include Europe also. Does anone have more information about this app?

Mixed feelings

Have been trying the app for a few days now.

The charts look nice but I miss the ATC frequency boxes that are on the normal charts. Especially on the atlantic charts there is lot off empty space

The text manuals are a big disappointment as they open outside the Program in a PDF reader. The menu structure is completely open so that finding a page takes forever. Ever time you download a new manual update you need to reload it in the PDF reader, so if you are not careful. The search option in PDF on an iPad is very slow so going trough the manual takes forever.

Also still missing is a possibility for printing plates

But if we get it certified, it saves a lot of space and updating.

Drop an email to tech [email protected]. They are getting a lot of feedback right now on the new program. With more critique, it may help them prioritize the updated features. Just be gentle. They are working on it.
