Water survival training for individuals - Where ?

I am busy searching for an institution (preferably in Germany) that offers water survival training (life raft etc) for pilots. All the places I know of (TFC Kaeufer, Lufthansa Flight Training etc.) only offer the courses to companies or groups and not single individuals. Maybe somebody here can give me a tip ?

Possibly Oxford Aviation Academy in the UK might be the key, but I am still trying to reach the person in charge over there. Meanwhile any other suggestions of providers are greatly appreciated or the possibility of joining an existing group planning in doing the course in the next 3 Months or so. Thx!

You could look at the RYA (Royal Yachting Association) website - obviously UK based. Their Sea Survival course at Poole is intended for sailors, but, hey, once you're in the water, it doesn't really matter how you arrived there.

Don't know if this helps, but I remember an article in a German magazine (either fliegermagazin or Aerokurier) about the German AOPA doing training at a navy facility in Nordholz.

Try the sailing organization DHH (http://www.dhh.de). They used to offer a weekend course in April.

Looks like it will be TAG Global Training in Farnborough, as they have a course every 2 weeks where externals may join. TAG Geneva hopes to get approval for this in the next couple of months.

Thanks again for all of your input.

Thx - maybe someone in your area will find that info useful.

I accomplished my initial with TAG in Farnborough already (Sep.2011) and can honestly recommend them.

I believe there is a facility in Aberdeen where you can do survival training.
Take a look at: Offshore Survival Aberdeen | Maersk
I have never used them so cannot offer insight into their courses. It is something I would like to do though!
