Legacy 600 Windsheilds
I should perhaps have posted this in Tech Log... but as I'm taking about the Legacy 600....has anyone else here suffered from de-laminated winshields that Embraer refuse to change? I'm not talking CMM limits but rate of spread of de-lamination after just a couple of cycles?

I don't have experienced the same problem with the windshields; however it's a term written in the warranty agreement, that only items which are defect, meaning outside of tolerance, are covered by warranty. If I don't misinterpreted your thread, the delamination is still in limit, isn't it?
This is a common procedure of all manufacturers.

The de-lamination of the PPG/Sierracin windshields fitted to the Legacy is a common problem and one which Embraer are reluctant to cover under warranty unless absolutely necessary ie the de-lamination has propogated into the heating element area of the screen.
I believe that the CMM for each screen type permits quite a lot of delam outside of the heating element area. The outer pane's of these screens have been known to shatter in flight after the de-lamination has started. One angle you could try with Embraer to cover it under warranty is if both screens after affected, it presents an increased safety risk as there is the remote possibility that both screens could shatter during the same flight.
If that draws a blank, either replace the screen at your own expense if you are that concerned about it or you have to wait for the de-lamination to propogate beyond CMM limits.
Maybe you could post a photo of the affected screen for us to have a look at?
Cheers.

I've had the outer glass go on me ( Emb 145 model), just after landing. It as I switched the wipers to off and they parked themselves with a bit of a "clunk".
The glass went with a very sharp crack, almost like the report from an old .303 rifle - certainly made me jump!
That screen had shown no obvious signs of de-lam prior to the failure.
Another colleage had the same thing a few weeks later on another airframe.
On our fleet, that was 2 incidents in a year, with the fleet flying about 10,000 hrs a year.
there was always 2 or three airframes with de-lam (within limits) at any one time.
