That sounds like a shop I wouldn´t employ. Trying to make that sort of money on the back of the client is a big no-no.
Having been the mx director for 2 operations, pre JAR and in JARtimes I could not tell the difference in safety. I then introduced the CAMO in an operation. No higher safety level then. Just higher costs and less flexibility.
But now having given control of 'my' airplane to a CAMO organization - cause we´d have to get approval/quality mgmt/manuals etc. for doing it ourselfes - more than once the mx wouldn´t have been done completely, had I not spotted the missing stuff.
