flying "airways"

This seem to be a question I cannot find out..

flying "airways" (IFR), in the UK and France single made crew, is it an requirement to have an ADF on board?

I cannot find out this information and would be great full if any one knows the correct answer.. Did post the same post on "professional pilot training", but no one knows the answer.

The aircraft I plan to fly to France in will have a G1000 glass cockpit.

The aircraft has the correct number of altimeters and HSI/ CDI to fly airways. But does not have a ADF!!! The aerodrome which I will fly out from in the UK does have a NDB situated onsite.

For sure I know that in Italy a plane cannot be certified to fly IFR without an ADF installed. Don't know about France or UK though...

At the moment the rules say you require an ADF - You need to read Schedule 5 of the ANO. When looking up the equipment scale it's scale "F" that applies:

Scale F
Radio communication and radio navigation equipment capable of enabling the aircraft to
be navigated along the intended route including:
(a) automatic direction finding equipment;
(b) distance measuring equipment; and
(c) VHF omni-range equipment.
There is talk of it changing - but the wheels of bureacracy grind oh so slow.

The thing is - the only person who knew you didn't have an ADF would be you, especially with a G1000 fit.
