Things are looking up

Way up! Virgin Galcatic is looking for Pilot/Astronauts, "Prior spaceflight experience is an advantage" guess that rules me out

Yes I guess it would be an advantage. Who, would be pilots with space experience, apart from the ex shuttle pilots?? I cant see them been made redundant in a hurry. So aren't they having delusions of grandeur thinking established pilot/astronauts are going to join up to an as yet, unproven setup??

Not wanting to rain on the parade here, but I'd assume that with the Space Shuttle groundings there'd be a few pilots / astronauts who wouldn't mind a regular gig in space.

Virgin sells a mentality, and an experience. I am sure the odd astronaut has already sent an application.
