C510 rolls on its own - write-off !!!

The person who took the first photo, is an aircraft owner and Air Show Announcer - and states the aircraft has been written off by the insurance company.

It was parked and unattended at Cable Airport in Southern California when it rolled forward, nearly taken the tail off of a 'Gobash' and rolling into a concrete retaining wall. (Sept 17/10)

Apparently there is substantial damage to spar. Photo One, is shortly after the incident, and photo two shows the Mustang now without engines!!

Thank you for posting!

I'd like to use it on training purpose, preventing our aircraft from the same destiny.

Do you have a link to an official source for the facts you have posted? And are there any pictures showing actual damage, as it might be more impressive to the "that will never happen-pilots"?

Pacific Coast Jet - Contact Owner/Operator of N510PS Preliminary Accident & Incident Data The FAA page only keeps the info up for 10 days, you can email them for a copy of it. Email address is at bottom right of page. After 10 days, only the more serious accidents/incidents get added to the monthly lists. I did hear from the owner of the privately owned airport where the accident occurred, the Mustang was dismantled - and most likely is getting a new wing, so we should see it in the air again!!! Report to FAA was filed on Sept 20/10 in Riverside California NTSB office, if that helps. AvWeb may be doing a report on the incident shortly.
