Rules and regulations for private AC owner
Greetings!
My question regards the legality involved when a pilot operates an aircraft for a private owner. Does the aircraft have to be operated under JAR-OPS and on an AOC in order for the pilot to get payed? Or is it enough for the pilot to hold a CPL?

No it hasnīt. For the time being, the legislation of the country of registration should apply. I fly for a company (Coorperate aircraft) without AOC and I am getting paid for that. (I hold an ATP).
BTW, JAROPS is now EU-OPS and is soon to be EASA - Ops. Under EASA Ops the individual legislation for the operation of aircraft should change to EASA Ops, which - if the draft is anything like the final thing - will contain ALL paragraphs for flying. You then pick what you do, like GEN is for all flying and CAT paragraphs will apply for commercial operators etc.

Hello!
It may be different in other parts of the world, but here you do not even need a CPL for that. For an employee of a company who flies the corporate aeroplane, a PPL is all that is required. For many years, I used to accompany such a person, a "self flying CEO", as safety pilot (and "bad weather pilot" because he was not instrument rated then) and we discussed the topic at length with their legal department and the insurer. No problem at all. As long as we did not carry passengers who pay for their flying.
Or is it enough for the pilot to hold a CPL?
