Gulfstream Differences
Just wondering if there is any definitive way to tell between different Gulfstream models, just by looking at them?
I'm thinking G-IV, G-V, G450, G300 etc etc.
I know that the G550 has an extra window for example, and the original G-IV has chrome on the engines I think.
Will move to Spotters if you request.

Let's try...
The G450 shares the wing of the G-IV, but has the same forward nose section as the G-V/500/550, with extra lenghth observed between the main door and the side cockpit window.
The G-IV engine is not the same as the G450s hence another difference: the G-IV engine looks like the Fokker 100's (same TAY models, silver exhausts), the G450's is the same as the G-V/500/550 (full cowling of the engine).
The G450 is fitted with EVS/Kollsmann window below the nose, like the G500 and G550. However some G-IVs are now equipped as well.
The G-V is similar to the G500/550 but is not fitted with standard EVS, and has 6 windows (7 windows for the G500/550 but careful! I have heard that 3 G-Vs have 7 windows on the right side. Maybe some late models?).
The G500 is the same as the G550 (lower MTOW and fuel capacity).
The G400 is the same as the G-IV, except that it has the EVS as standard equipment.
The G300 is the same as the G400, but with less fuel capacity and lower MTOW, but with better payload and T/O performance.

You forgot 1 big other difference. The G300/G400/G-IV all have windshield wipers, the GV/G450/G500/G550 do not. So another quick way to tell if it is a G-IV versus a GV is to just look to see if it has wipers

At least one G5 has a G550 nose, inc EVS
There is at least one G5, with a G550 nose.
Caused some problems when nose attacked by tow truck once, wrong nose delivered twice. Major practical difference is number of retaining clamps.
Apart from that, Captain on G550 have 5 stripes, so easy to spot in crew room, as well as they will tell you anyway.

flight deck differences
Flex do you have picture of A6-DEJ with the G550 nose fitted.?
There are a few differences (exch G4), between the plane view models.
One or two switches missing on G450/G350.
Please can someone tell me why the baro setting knob on the G550 needs two clicks per Mb vs one on the G450.
And lastly now many vortex generators, on each model.
Consider yourself an offical spotter, if correct.

New G450/550's have a square outflow valve assembly and the apu exhaust has a different shield.
The main wheel and tire assemblies are different on a G4sp then a G450. Older G4's without ASC190 (increased ldg #) have another style.

5 Stripes
Thats Very Funny about the 5 stripes, I know of one operation that have to wear blazers and grey trousers. They Dont have 5 stripes but have very shiny shoes and all carry the same bags as is if they have their own look and Image of the the 1980s

Other than the already posted wheel difference...
The beacon on top of the fuselage of a G-IVSP is mounted on a plate about 2 inches above the metal. Whereas the G-IV beacon is flush to the metal.
And as they say, that and a dollar will buy you a beer at happy hour.

GIV-GIVSP differences, just check the stainless steel aircraft data plate,
S/N 1214 (my old a/c) and subsequent are 'sp's.
Keel beams are of heavier construction on the SP. (you have to look very carefully for this one!)
How many GV's are fitted with a top beacon???

Those aircraft have probably had ASC 190 embodied, but they werent new build SP's.
You forgot 1168 and 1196 in your listing, both with ASC 190

operationally quite a lot of difference
You need to go back to the basics, the G450 is a G4 airframe plus WING. With different engines and a forward plug. Plane view was modified for the g450
The G550 has different wing, engines, and the plane view was designed for this model.
In general: different weights, different fuel loads, and pay loads.
Different speeds, fuel burns and range. Different coffee machines. The G550 is more runway efficient.
I suggest go on to Gulfstream sales web site, and check the published differences.
The two airframes actually handle differently, and any one who starts on a G450, will get into a little trouble if they fly the G550 in the same way, I know because it kinda bit me too.
