Avcard / UVair, payment cards

Hi,

I am in the early stages of trying to decide what aviation payment card to acquire. Are there basically just a handful of payment cards? Avcard, Uvair, AirBP? Do they all have similar interest rates? I am interested in a multiservice type card, i.e. one where I can take care of all the trip charges on a single card, although I am sure you can do that with Avcard, right? What makes one card better to use than another?

Thanks

Certainly for fuel, AVCARD is now owned by world fuel service and is cheaper than the typical UVAIR/BP/SHELL cards, I paid a little over 39p per litre at EDI the other day and thats at $1.50 per pound . I needed to allow 4 hours as they had to find me a gap from the main apron and I had to take 2500 litres+ but it was 30% cheaper than everybody else.

Im amazed by how many crews allow the handler or even worse the fueller to decide which carnet they use.

Its possible to earn free handling just by handing over a different piece of plastic - I saved well over 300 quid that day

We use AVCARD. We are yet to do a trip where we have not had any problems with it. It seems that not all of the dealers in the network and AVFUEL agree on all the terms of the credit agreements. We are also utilizing their flight planning service. I really miss using Universal.

I used to use AVCard, but my experience of acceptance decreased the further South of the Med l went.
Middle East and Asia no acceptance, despite their directory saying otherwise.
This was prior to the Worldfuel takeover, so l do not know if things have improved.

I now deal directly with Worldfuel on a pre-order basis, and they have been superb.

Worldfuel/Jeppesen and/or Multi Service. BP Sterling can be good in certain locations.
