Orient Aviation HKG - non-payers!
Be aware of the company Orient Aviation Ltd. (affiliated with Orient Steamship) in HKG. They used to operate a Falcon 2000 (classic, s/n 27, registration: B8020) until recently and might be in the market for another airplane, consequently looking for personnel.
They failed to pay a number of foreign pilots until now, left hotel bills unpaid (leaving the payment for the room to surprised pilots when they checked out...) an so on.
They are represented by either a John Koo or a Shirley Lam or a Taurus Leung, their office address is: 25/F, Guangdong Finance Building, 88 Connaught Road West, Hong Kong, in the offices of Orient Steamship.
Stay as far away as possible!

It's true. They are bad news. The company is controlled by John Koo who has family links to CH Tung, the ex-Hong Kong government chief executive. When Koo's Orient Steamship operated a fleet of cargo vessels it was notorious for running up a string of unpaid bills covering crew wages etc. They company used to have offices in Jardine House in central Hong Kong but left in a row over unpaid rent. Stay well clear unless you want to be out of pocket.

Don't think the company encounters cash flow problems now. As I know, John Koo inks deal for new plane and plans expansion. He is continuing the aggresive, and it gets him boost both in HongKong and mainland China.

Why they don’t think themselves has problems? Should think it deeply before wrote such things and not keep saying was other false.
Let me tell the truth. I have been working for Mr. John Koo as a FA for a year already; he is never ever not paid for the staff!!!! LISTEN – I said it seriously “never ever”. You guys should know PJ industry is totally different with commercial airlines. No Brainers. Once we got his offer, he really treat us as a family member, in the meantime, please show yours sincere, responsibility and discipline to the one who paid to you and to all other colleagues. Has boss ever treat you guys badly? He is the one who always listen our comments directly. Do you guys still remember the time we went to have steaks together in “LAWRYS” steak house and drank together? I supposed you guys was really enjoyed it with no complaints at all.
Do you know the meaning of “SINCERE”? I don’t understand why you guys like to use the trick what call “RESIGN” to threat company manager let her promise everything’s what you guys wanted. Don’t ever think yours don’t know that u need leave your family in your hometown when coming HKG for the job duties. I hope yours could stand on the Company point of view, you guys only work for few months then want to take AL and give short notice and saying coz you miss yours family and wanted to go back to see them, who will be the pilot to take the aircraft? Do yours think to find a pilot in a short time to replace is easy? I could honestly tell yours that “RESIGN” could not solve the problems; we should sit down and have a talk to solve the problems together. That’s what family will do when we have problems and for all the companies I guess.
What is “RESPONSIBILITY”? Do yours know the meaning of responsibility? Before you guys went away, have yours ever thought you have responsibility to the Company/Yourself? How could you guys just left HK without informed Company and used the ticket which Company paid, did not use your own money to purchase a one-way air-ticket. I have done the company paper work on it; I knew very well company paid the housing allowance to you guys EVERY MONTH. Sure that company has paid the housing allowance EVERY MONTH to you guys. How come some of them did not paid the services that they used and just left? Then what’s the purpose for company paid for the housing allowance? It’s RIDICLOUS!!! Have yours ever think it is yours responsibility that to pay for all outstanding amount before you guys left? Was it the first time you guys did? Do you know yours would break the “trust”? Do you guys know the hotel called to the Company and asked for yours contact details? Absolutely we all didn’t disclose yours information to others as we respected yours, we still treat yours as our family member, and we still wait for yours to return. Absurd thinking, we do not say the person who has no responsibility to the Company is one of our ex-staff, I meant a pilot. Let’s think seriously, no one would do that to the Company if you have responsibility. Do you all agree?
What is “DISCIPLINE”? Discipline can be trained while you guys were young from yours family or school. I guess you guys would do that to your kids as well, I think everyone should know Private Jet industry is really small world, we all know what each other doing. It is not hard to find out your history and your current status from others. Don’t ever think there is any secret in this industry at all. So I believe, many people are already heard there is a pilot who left Hong Kong the next morning after we celebrated his birthday and got his pay cheque. SHAME ON HIM! I think he have planned to do it! And guess’s what? Disappeared from the next day and we all could not contact. Even he knew there was a trip on the day after but he could still left the office without any notice. Please think what you guys do to the company before you guys wrote any gossips here or to other people.
Finally, after working for the company over 1 year, the company is rich also rapidly expanding in both sectors. That all I can speak for myself.

One of the worst cases of the subject of the original post coming on to defend their case I've ever seen. Fair and truth seems to have a lot of insight into the 'management' of this company for a FA!

To tell u the truth, Shirley is our principle personal assistant/Administration Manager , as Shirley make so much politics and conflict between us with company behind boss ( Mr. John Koo) as last year, and we can’t say anything’s in company, cause she got many power of authority, who ever never listen to her, then she will fire or yelling to him/her. that’s why we misunderstand our principle and hate company too much, luckily, our boss is a person who so perspicacious, he handle all the problems and knew all the situation . Now, I can tell, Thanks God... Shirley got fired from OAML at last year. Even many good colleagues away cause her. Its so sad indeed but happy that all the things are back to normal.
Our principle.... treat us very good, like Chinese New Year he will give us red pocket.... it doesn’t means money is everything, at least he will treat us as a family members. He will care our feeling and needs. He will keep contact us to ask for any helps. Everybody is so happy working together now. If boss really like what you guys said he is such inexpensively. It’s impossible to have any person to work for him. The fact proved that, no matter the office staff, the aviation staff, we all are very happy working together in this company, behind reason, because we have a good boss.
So I hope you guys don’t put and say your own subjective bias here anymore. Everybody is an adult; please do not speak any the bored speech in here again.

FA is Finance Accountant?? Do you know how much of cheques due for payment but not yet sign and sent out? His pratice is absolutely not to pay the final payment. If you believe if a good guy has "DISCINPLE" & "RESPONSIBILITY", please ask your good boss is there any cheque due to pay but not pay over many years.
