N REG Airplane with JAA license

Dear All
one question: i have been asked to ferry a N registered airplane from one base to another within Europe.
Although i do have an FAA ATPL, i am not currently using it and I am flying on the JAA license.
Would it be possible to obtain some kind of waiver from the FAA or from the local authority to do that flite, considering that I have the TR current on my JAA lisence but not on the FAA one? And is it true that you can obtain a validation to fly one N registered airplane based on your JAA license provided that it entails private operation?
Thanks

I guess the N registered aircraft fly completely different than non-N registered aircraft?

I don't think anyone has insinuated that EASA decides who can fly N reg.
