best value headset ?
Which headset model/brand is the best value to buy ? I know a well known brand (i.e. david...) but are there any other models/brands ?

Without further information on what you want/need from a headset, what you will be flying, your budget etc then that is a fairly useless question.
Like what is the best brand/model of car? Impossible to answer. I would love a Veyron but the roads out of my village regularly flood so it would be a poor choice.
I think you get the idea ;-)

may be my question is not clear. I have set my budget for a headset not more than U$300. and I will use most for my GA flights.With this budget which one should I buy?

For your budget I would suggest a David Clark H10-13.4 It is a very nice headset and doesn't cost $1000. I use one and I haven't had any problems with it. I cost right around $300.

Up until a month ago, I would have agreed with the recommendations posted here.
What caused me to change my choice is trying a pair of Marv Golden's Eagles, which look uncannily like Lightspeed QFR's that have been modified to ANR.
They are probably exactly suited to your requirements: lightweight, comfortable, extremely quiet when used in a typical general-aviation cockpit( I have forgotten to turn the ANR on twice), long battery life( two, AA batteries, I fly as an instructor everyday and am still running on the cheapies that came with it),adjustable mic gain, low-profile headband so one can still sit high, in-line module that accepts MP3 and cellphone inputs, and price: $239US.
I couldn't even convert a passive headset to ANR at that price, and that's with me doing the soldering.
The literature that is included even lists Lightspeed in Oregon as the place to send them for repair if necessary, and the bag they come in are the same as the ones Lightspeed uses, except for the absence of the silk-screened name.
They are not DC's: you couldn't drive over them or slam them in a door or cockpit window, probably could only get away with sitting on them a few times.
But for that price and performance, unbeatable.

I bought the latest Sennheiser at a very reduced rate! And i'm well impressed...PM me if you want the companies details but its in the UK!
