Realistic PA31-310 Performance Figures
Evening all,
I've been trying to find a POH online to answer this question, but have had no luck so far, so could someone in the know please post or PM some realistic performance figures for a PA31-310 Navajo C operating at MAUW, 6 pax & 1 pilot (est 75kg each), 10kg luggage. I'm specifically looking for IFR range and economy TAS & fuel burn at FL100.

Its been a while since I flew one of these but from what I remember you can reckon on a block fuel burn of 30 Imp GPH and TAS around 180kts. With a 160 Imp Gal capacity you can count on a comfortable 4 hours endurance plus reserves, therefore a range of maybe a little over 700 nm. Whether you'll achieve this with seven up I doubt, my memory doesn't stretch to such detail, but maybe someone else can help there.
I do operate a PA31-310C. 175kts is more realistic for a Navajo, it's a little slower than a Chieftain. However if the engines and airframe are poorly maintained most would be lucky to hit 165 -170 TAS (pretty common these days).
65% power (175KTAS) will see block fuel flow of about 160 lph - or 190 litres for the first hour and about 145-150 lph thereafter.
Standard max fuel is 696 litres usable (there are nacelle tank options).
OEW is generally between 2,050 - 2,150 kg (assuming 2,100)
MGTOW is 3,053 with the VG kit installed or 2,948kg without
Therefore with 6+1 and 10kg bags you would have 418kg (or 313kg without VG) for fuel - 540 litres (434litres without)
IFR Range (15% + 45 mins) would be 400Nm (280Nm without)
Full fuel range, IFR is realistically 600Nm and would allow about 450kg (6 total).
