Why refer to him as DL? David Leach is his name and he was extremely abusive and nasty to me when I made contact with him. Purely on a personality basis i would never wish to meet him and told him so!

Dear Mr Hopper
Whilst I do not agree about naming such a individual i do concur with your thoughts etc. I met this complete nut case in marshall aerospace many years ago. He had just transformed from a Jet star to a G111. He had everyone one running round in fear and I remember a young first officer who was on the G111 feel so bad he started to cry he referred to him as spotty nosed brat pack.
Whilst I have flown the wonderful jet star and the G11 and G111/GIV and GV I am unfortunately not as young as my co workers and I do respect their advantage in this fast world I struggle with a Blackberry and PC.

I have not bumped in to this fine species for some time, but I am afraid whilst he may be a gentleman and give young people a chance he is indeed border line sycopath and should now be administrated to the wards of local mental hospital.
Shutter Island could be a good place for him, just watched the film with my son and yes he should retire to the lighthouse.

Well, one may well ask what sort of a hold this guy has on the owners.People don't do well in business or keep a business going by being idiots.

Does this mentioned gentleman have a camera? Maybe he has some photos?

I think you have really raised a valid point here, it would be interested to see what the feed back is on this topic. Maybe as PC plod he did some undercover work for the operation.
where is Flintstone when we need him or daisy chain to step in. Anyway I am sure he will find a new pilot and this blog will re-appear in another 12 months time.
I am sure Junior will step in and take the rains some day, but can he actually spell Gulfstream he can always take 50/50 or ask a friend (he has 1) possibly could not ask the audience.

Long live Shrek and Crockodilly Pig.

Bedtime Stories

One tale has it that he was 'once upon a time' going to sue Cambridge Airport. Apparently he was forced to divert because he arrived 5 minutes after closing time and the airport had unreasonably closed.
What a truly mighty phone call that would have been when he got on the ground.
Brings tears to my eyes.
-
Another gem concerned a freelancer who had pay withheld because he wouldn't accept a later trip. This later trip was 'very short notice' and due to be away for weeks. And the reason it was short notice - the freelancer had always been rostered to do the trip but 'guess who' hadn't actually bothered to tell him. What a brave man that freelancer was and he lived happily ever after - although a few bob short.
Suspect that was another phone call that didn't go to well.
-
Always like a good bedtime story.

GV Midland Operation

As a new boy on here I note all you guys that have worked or avoided working for Dennis Vanguard International. I managed to work for many years there (I kept taking medication for it as you can imagine). The family/owners were lovely and I enjoyed all my time flying them around...the biggest problem was the CP and nothing seems to have changed, in fact it seems to have got worse. The son of the CP is the the No 2 there and has been guided by the CP....very worrying!

GV Opeartors

G3 Jet man it seems you have expert opinion of this operation is it normal to fly at 58N all the time regardless of weather across the Atlantic and also Morse code was essential as well as not using the thrust reversers on landings until signed off.

I have read his SOP and Contract letters its very concerning to say the least, has he applied these in a court of law lately? I told him to stick his offer where the sun does not shine any more. Im being called back soon off my furlough so all will be normal again.

Dear Rusty and G3 it seems you have brought up some very valid points its such a shame about the operation as I do remember the passengers and they were indeed delightful.
The current Regime seems like its a spiral continued system and things keep getting churned up again. I wonder when the owners will finally understand. May be the 2 planned court cases against dismissed pilots need to be brought to their attention I am sure they have no idea.

I am a little out of touch on the Gulfstream network as I now fly brand X but it has to be said DVI is indeed the worst possible place to work whilst working under the current manager.

They all are aware of the shortcomings of the operation.
Gerald doesn't want to do anything and the Grandsons are not in charge yet!
The operation will continue in the same way until the brothers take over!
This is well down the road. More pilots will get hurt first.

Dear HR
I am not sure of all the details etc, all I know is that under the Current Regime nothing will probably ever change or does somebody have something up there sleeve soon. When the senior principal leaves these shores I am sure it will be the shortest Job the manager and the boy will have. I heard recently the boys are looking at a Falcon 2000 from Geneva based management company and they have had enough of the fool and his antics.

New Boy on the block with a Type depending on a few things as follows.
1) Sleepless nights with the new crocokdilly pig infant may require them to relax a few things as his son will be so tired to deal with these new tasks in life.
2) Approx 11 Months 3 weeks and 1 day if the principal is still alive.

RRIP all whom Join I wish him her the very best at DVI not for me after my insane interview with Hitler.

Very Odd and insane operation.

Rothschild!

Curiouser and Curiouser.
That would be the Rothschild GIV - nice colour scheme, not.
Some years back DL was being considered for management of aforementioned aircraft.
Crewing to be shared with DV and the South African GV operation based out of Farnborough.
Not sure of the outcome but believe the Rothschild family saw the light just in time.
Incidentally it's not difficult to guess where most of the SA Farnborough based guys got their GV rating.

The R family, french branch, has acquired an used Falcon 900B.
Gulfstream, Bombardier, Falcon: all have good taste anyway.
