Hampshire Police Air Support Unit

Anyone worked for this organisation or flown any of the other UK police islanders?

I'd be grateful for any info you might have

Thanks!

I heard it is very hard to get in unless you are ex-Army Air Corps, and have personal contacts.

The flying is a bit harder than you might think, generally the ex army guys fly the rotary not the fixed wing, its good fun and the pay is not bad. Very stable rosta.

Not so stable now. The aircraft is grounded awaiting sale and the unit has ceased operations.

Bought it! Lucky you, I thought the reason that the aircraft had remained unsold for some 2 years was that it had certain non EASA police role equipment modifications incorporated that made it not eligible for issuance of an EASA C of A unless it were to be registered as a State aircraft. Hope you got this sorted out.

Perhaps I can help. What do you need to know? I spent some years flying that Defender.
