Gaining an NZ AOC

Does anyone out there know roughly how long it takes to gain an AOC for a single pilot and single aircraft operation (possibly on floats) carrying out tourist flights and charter. I have gone through the CAA document to tell me the process but just wanted to know if any of you have first hand experience.

Also I see on the CAA doc it says the cost is roughly between $3000NZD and $1000NZD, do you have any idea what the above operation is likely to come in at.

Hope someone can help, thanks
