Whatever became of this incident. I heard that the FAA was investigating. Was there anything done illegal?

Well, Rotorheads are a bit odd.
If the wing rotates around you, you´re in a spin.

The revocation was upheld and he will have to wait one year, I believe, to reapply for a FAA certificate...AND....take all the written and practical tests again. I am not sure if the FAA can deny his application based on past revocations.
