Try to talk with someone (corporate company) that may have an empty leg to Moscow and ask them the favour of including you on the crew, it has worked before with some partner.

Yes you do, unless you can ride along as crew with someone as l60f says. There are a number of good visa agencies in the UK that can tell you all you need to know. Try contacting these guyswho should be able to sort you out with a one or two entry visa pdq.
Visa and Transfer services for Russia, China and Ukraine : Travel Direct (UK) Ltd.
I have used them a lot in the past and they are very reliable but they are in Edinburgh. If you are really short of time and are based in the south, try Star Visa Services Ltd - Russian Visas, Russian Consular Services & More

Visa
You have to arrange a Russian Visa. If you require to enter multiple times in a year, I would advise a multiple entry one.
The first thing a Russan will ask you when you arrive in the country is: VISA! I think its their way to say hello...
N.
There are a few companies in England who can arrange it and the Russian embassy might be another possibility.
Good luck.

You will deffo need a visa. If muliple entry you will first need a letter of invitation from a Russian sponsor company. Its a very loooooong process.
If inbound as crew then you should be able to get a one off visa on arrival but it can take several hours, but check with the likes of Russaero.

You may try the following:
Get in contact with the russian FBO handling your outbound flight.
They might be authorized to pick you up at your inbound and to transfer you upon arrival.
In that case they may organise a crew visa at the location. (2-4 hours waiting time)
Process is quicker if you provide them with passportdetails and copys in advance.
But be aware, this is a so called VIP Processing.
You know the prices in Russia? Quit a nightmare.
So if you do have some time, its better to follow the mentioned above.
Good Luck!
