I was also in time a hard working pilot for NJE. I was there from 2000 till FEB 2007.
Always gave that extra mile to the company. Hell, on the 6 day tour I was there to work, so... I worked and helped out when ever I could and felt fit to.

NJE 2003... 40 a/c... the XL fleet were just about 7 a/c and we knew all the guys on the fleet.we were about 30 on the roster! The Falcon 2000 was the top fleet and the nest of DM(if you remember him... )

Then NJE started to grow (still don't know if NJE was getting bigger or fatter).
Lots of hiring, that was good for all of us Pilots, of course!
The problem is that quantity is not quality.
And... I started flying with low time guys that were in the company not even released from training and already beaching about training department, Roestering (Big Sandra... miss you babe ) and of course Scheduling.
I used to Love my job at NJE. Great flying, great airplanes, the best ground team in the market (Mx,Scheduling,Dispatch,etc...) I really felt the support from the office and the feed back from the owners was very positive. It was a young and motivated company.
Got tired of it, because I started earing too many bad words of my younger colleges, too many spits on the plate!
As much as I tried to call up their senses, I was ignored and lots of guys just started to sabotage the operations for their own profit and pleasure.
I Saw too many times guys and girls saying on the phone to scheduling that they could not accept the last leg because they were too tired when the truth was that they had already made some exciting arrangements for the night and... ops scheduling calls and there is one more ferry to do tonight! The PIC on this was a girl and on that week was a beach party at Cascais offered by NJE (senior management used to organize things like that party just for everybody to share some good moments and interact outside work... good Ground to Air personnel CRM) that lady and her SIC were by coincident at LPPT and were not too tired to go to the party... be ashamed miss and Mr.
This was not an isolated case. Word was that we needed to form an union to defend our pilots rights. We were being abused by the company and Scheduling. On no... the devils from Scheduling... calling again...

Now, what do you guys have now??? Unfortunately I have to say what I fell
We lay down on the bed that we make!
Too bad for the hard working guys that the company had and were selected to leave and to the ones still giving their blood and sweet for that great company. Yes, NJE still thinks about their workers! What a great company to work I do not get tired to say.

Today, life is so funny, the guys that used to beach about scheduling calls for the extra mile, now call them and beg to fly! Life is really funny...
Still have good friends there. Friends for life! Flying and in the Office.
If they read this they know who I am.
Don't get me wrong, this is not the INDOC lecture. This is my honest felling.

If I'm happy working on a Major Airline? Yes, of course.
No pilot was fired until now, no Pilot will be fired. Actually we're hiring. One guy fired from Alitalia had luck

If I would come back to NJE??? Yes... if NJE gets to be what is was on 2000. A family, a real big family.
Thrust is everything on a friendship or professional relation... when you loose it...

Sorry about this guys, today was my night to beach and moan
Catch you all in the skys.
