Two questions relative C550

Hi guys,

I just have tow questions:

1) Can a C500/550/560 type rated pilot fly a C550SP?

2) What salary can I expect as a captain in a C550 based in Le Bourget? how mean how expensive is to live in France?? I have to elaborate an offer and I donīt know what to say.

thanks in advance

To answer No.1:

500/550/560 are a typerating, 501/551 [ISP,IISP] are a classrating. So its not the same rating. (althought the airplanes are totally similar less weights...)

For 2, I have no idea.

Hola Samca,

in order to be able to fly this citation for a french operator, you'll need a validation of your licence done by the DGAC (french CAA)..

What I suggest to you is calling (or mail) them and receive all infos you're looking for..In doing that way, you'll be sure to proceed in accordance with the french rules ...

Note that the validation is already a expense of about 200 €..

Good luck ..compadre..

Hola,

The airplanes are based in Paris but are spanish register under spanish AOC. I asked a friend andhe told me that in public transport you can fly the C550SP even if your type is C550 becouse is madatory two pilots.

Anyway Iīm going to call tomorrow spanish DGAC and let see.

Any idea of the salaries in France for a C550 captain. thanks

Yes, so no need for a validation..but have a talk with spanish CAA about the rating..

all european CAA have different feeling about this ..and I share their concerns..

In a SP model, the copilot is not really a full second pilot..plenty of controls remain out of reach for him...that's one of the reason....
I'm not flying Citattion anymore, but I have flown the I,II,SII,V, Bravo,Ultra and Encore.. and by the way, what is the name of this operator ??

Hasta la proxima..compadre

Iīve been speaking with an examiner and told me that I have to do a complete Type Rating COMPLETE.

Itīs amazing is exactly the same plane. Iīll try to reach anybody in Flight Safety but Iīm afraid is like that.

pufffff itīs ridiculous, is just a business this no sense at all.

roljoe, the SP models are EXACTLY the same in the cockpit like the non SP.

Difference is, a boommike and A/P are mandatory, AOM is different. But how many non SPs have no A/P and no Boom mike?

Apart from that the airplane is exactly the same less the weights.

It is a ripoff and complete BS. The initial reasoning was that the airplanes are over 12500, thus warranting a T/R. Whilst the CJ3 is also a C/R with the smaller CJ/CJ1/CJ1+/CJ2/CJ2+

Pathetic, but real.

In order to convalidate C550 type to 551 in Flight Safety.

5 days course
10 hours of sim

and.....

14.100 euros

Know I understand why Warren Buffet is the richest man on the world. For this people the word CRISIS doesnīt exist.

Crazy fully crazy, remember that we are speaking about exactly the same simulator in Paris.
