(Still) GOT JOB ??? Any BizAv alternatives e.g. Middle East, Asia,... ?
It's been an a**full of work to get into the cockpit and the plan was that things should finaly get better for me this year('was sorta hoping to feed my family on a regular basis ;-). After exactly one year F/Oing in CJs 'got kicked out of the cockpit again last monday ;-(
Now what?
Good thing is that I now have time to hang around in pprune a lot more, but I get the general impression that I'm not the only one... talking about pprune now.
Regarding the situation around me I know I'm not! Rumour says that around my homebase there're something like 90 Bizjets registered, of which around half are for sale. Need a Bizjet? I can sort you out with a really cheap one
As it happened quite quickly no one of the people I know is prepared really. So my question is: is it like that everywhere and would it be better to think about something else and duck under untill things get better - after all, bills have to be payed. Hoping that there'll be a surge somtime down the road that will urge some company to take me and reactivate my license? Or should we all aim at filling gaps somewhere else on this planet? Which leads me back to the real issue: are there any gaps to fill? Anywhere?
A couple of months ago I was offered jobs walking across foreign aprons. Now my (frozen) ATPL, CJ rating, 450TT, 200 Turbine ME, don't seem to be worth sh*t anymore. Forgive my moaning between the lines but I do belive that there are loads of fellows out there feeling somewhat similar. Give us some solace mate!
What do you guys think?! The lucky loosers and happy camper (still having a job) alike.
Best thing to do. Trends you see. Your xxxPence worth (is thePence still worth anything ;-)
Let me/us know!
P.S.: I was into maintenance before flying this one year, so I know that it is all cyclic and everything.
And credit crunch might probably be the unword of the year, but it's a fact!
And while we're at it: any idea what a LPC costs if I had to pay it myself and where to get it (License expires on Feb. 27 :-( ???
let's go for it !
