FBO query - Cuba
Hi folks,
I'm planning a trip from Europe to Havana. Our usual US based Flight Planners aren't allowed arrange, or provide any information on handling in Cuba (Federal law). Can anyone recommend a good agent?
Any points to note on corporate operations to Cuba would be appreciated.
Thanks.

General contact phone number for Jose Marti Airport (MUHA) Havana, Cuba +53 (07) 649 5777 or +53 (07) 266 4644. If you require an alternate airport, Veradaro (MUVR) is suitable.
Civil Aviation Authority, Havana, Cuba Tel: +53 334949 Fax: +53 334553
e-mail: [email protected]
web site (under construction): www.cubagob.cu
If no luck, contact ASUR FBO Cancun, Mexico (MMUN), as they handle private jet traffic to Cuba daily. +52 998 848 7241.
Cheers!

Thanks for the information Evansb,
We obtained a list of names from an online database, but that's all. It includes Cubana and about three others, which don't have websites. I just want to use a good one, as you know it can make life much easier. If I call one up I know they'll promise the sun, moon and stars, but may not deliver. I was hoping some pruner might have a recommendation.
Our contracted planners, being a US company, won't/can't give us any information.
Regards,
Eddie

Although I have been to Havana quite a lot in the past I'm afraid that I really cannot help you. Except to say that after our first few trips into Havana, when we were surrounded by APCs, tanks and a couple hundred army troops, the people at the airport were very friendly and professional. The railroad track that use to run right through the runway about midpoint has been removed.
On the later flights we parked where the former army base was, it has been converted into shops selling everything from cigars to T-shirts. You may be parking there.
Enjoy Havana, I always did, very friendly folks. Well most of them.
