Yes I did, but less specific than you, they have or already had a big meeting I was told. Parking (grounding?) of airplanes (I heard 3 - maybe that was the Legacies?) seems to be a fact. Heard it from someone in the company.

No-one seems do be doing good at the moment, and the ones that were aiming at the russian market are hit the hardest, so I hear.

My flightdepartment is in danger as well.... just hope to have my job in half a years time.
This time I think its going to be way worse than the last downturn. Although there is a lot of media hype, the behaviour of my board tells me a lot.
They are not flying at all since 4 weeks and I donīt hear a word from them...
My internal GPWS says "pull out, pull out" but where to? The FD symbol is off the PFD for that right now... good luck to all.

@Fischmeister

Hallo Fischmeister,

when everything is so fine - why you are looking for a job in the thread in the first line?

And nothing is fine with DC-Aviation. No flights - most of the ACīs are parked on the ramp. They dismissed all freelancers. They started to get rid of FAīs.

Nobody is speaking bout expansion anymore - nobody speaks about the new Airbusses anymore.
But I assume - Fischmeister - I just miss the "BIG PICTURE" here!?

Good luck with the search for your new job!

its true about Velvet. But also the other ACīs are not flying. DC is loosing money.
DC lost the sales department of Cirrus during merger - and they still feel the pain.Thee young girls from sales in EDDS donīt have a clue what they are doing. They also did not sell much flys in the high season.

And about our friend Fischmeister:
He is just our little Top Gun and dreams about new ratings on nice and shiny ACīs. And everytime someone asks about DC-he freaks out - donīt know why.

My opinion-Mr. Fischmeister - nobody should be interested to see a company close down - may it be Vista-DC, Ocean Sky or AIr Berlin. If this happens it will be hard for everybody. Maybe you should include this into your "Big Picture".

Hi all, DCA is really in trouble. On friday were fired all people from all departments in the company and technical supporter, which were from job leasing agencys or not longer that 6 month in All job offers are not valid anymore. The atmosphere in company is really bad. No quotations for sales, vast amount of unpaid invoices, no money from russian owners. Really bad times for the company. The only last chance to keep the job, if the financial situation gonna be better at the soonest next time.

I think it also had to do with the bail out in the states. One condition to get the money from the government was that DC had to get rid of the aircraft.

No, future does not shine bright for DC aviation.

I do not think so, because DC-Aviation has NOTHING to do with Daimler Chrysler

Hello SpainFly, what about 2xG550 owned by Daimler and all the business flights of them? Is it nothing?

To the cheap shot loving bad mouthing biz jet community

It's always interesting to notice the difference between what people actually know and what theythink they should talk about.

Failing true and valid information paired with knowledge, I recommend to leave it to those who actually know what's going on.

In this particular case measures taken by the DC Aviation management are a signs of being proactive given the outlook for 2009.

If there is anyone out there who belives that 2009 can be surived without appropriate cut backs I can only say - dream on.

Well said Mag! I can't help but wonder how much chaos is being caused in the Flight departments of these companies by the spread of these rumours. My advice to everyone - Shut up and do your job for the next few months. Consider yourself lucky if you come out of this in the same position as before.

...good luck to us all!

Vert out

Maybe one should, given that one is working for a company discussed on a public board, think about possible consequences of telling everything one knows/ perhaps dont know/ perhaps dont fully understand.
Maybe one should, in the spirit of christmas, peace, love and brown rice, STOP YAPPING on a public board !!!

When the yapping and nonsense has stopped, maybe comes the time for reflection and afterthought.
"What did I accomplish by sharing this, possibly privileged, information"
"Could I possibly be feeding a self-fulfilling prophecy"
"Would my company be better off if they fired me, or better yet, never had hired me"

Nothing wrong with warning fellow aviators about the occasional crook out there, NOT the case here.

"Lose lips sink ships"
