Checkflight
Hi guys,
i have a german atpl. rated on a cl604. JAA-License.
Is it possible to fly on a N-registered challenger as a copilot? Its a private one. No commercial!!!
Is it true that the 2nd crewmembr only have to held the license to do the radio?
And is it also possible to do a checkride for jaa on a N-registered aircraft if the cpt has a valid faa and jaa license and is also tri/tre in jaa?
thanks for answers.....

I would have thought to fly as a co-pilot on an N-Reg you would need both at least an FAA CPL/IR and a FAA SIC rating.
However as you hold an ATPL (is it German JAA issued or a National German ATPL pre JAA) then I believe all you need to do is the FAA ATP written knowledge, an FAA ATP skills test and then an FAA equivalent to an LST on the CL604 (not sure what term they use in FAA). I know on the single pilot types such as the smaller citations and King airs, the FAA ATP skills test and check ride for the type rating can be combined into one test. Not sure how that stands for multi crew types though.
