Avcard if you don't mind battling the FBO's who don't want you to use it.

Exxon and Air BP: they are accepted almost everywhere and they are not difficult to request.

Air BP, tend to find its easy and cheap, especially as its usually purchased fuel rather than middle man handling.

As Phil says Avcard if u can fight with the handlers, any snash with the agent just phone Avcard.

Multiservice is a rip off, we have it but its a last resort, they absolutely hump you in admin charges.

BP is ok in the UK, generally crap in Europe but, not sure about Exxon.

What about UVAir or World Fuel Services, they any good?

Deek,

We have just recently started arranging (at Capt discretion) uplift with Avcard despatch - they confirm in writing each base and it's significantly reduced the old FBO avoidance.

Air BP works for us. Most airports take it.

Carry a Few

Dont forget that different Carnet's charge different rates at different airports. Carry a number (Air BP, Uvair, Multiserve etc) and check each rate for each airport you visit. You may find for example that at Nice, Uvair charge say 0.90p ltr, Air BP 0.80p per ltr and Multiseve 0.70p per ltr. Differs with each airport you visit, but you get the idea. Worth looking into. They produce books each month with all the rates in them.

Also, don't forget some handling agents are cheaper than the carnets and happy to have you on account i.e Channel Islands.

Out of interest, 7 times out of 10, Multiservice is the cheapest of the three, followed by Air BP.

Hope this helps.
