Tech stop in Russia
Flying from eastern Europe to Korea. We are looking for a good tech stop in Russia. Anyone used Novosibirsk (UUNT) lately? Any other suggestions.
All help appreciated.
Cheers

UNNT is central and not so bad . I would go there because it is still a " major " airport in Russia and have the minimums .
There are some smaler ones out there but never got to land there .
Regards

Almaty? (UAAA)
You can go visit Borat...
Seriously.. we put an aircraft through Almaty and we were pleasantly surprised. Fuel was reasonable cost there. Also it's served by some major carriers, like Asiana.. so if the unthinkable happens and you go tech, it won't be a long winded stay there for your pax...
Only thing to watch is the time of year your going with Russia with winter and all.... also in Almaty the fog/smoke can sometimes be a feature of the weather there....

I've just make a fuel stop in UNNT this week-end, very efficient as usual, fuel truck waiting at the stand etc... our handling was rusaero
it's much longer if you stop in a smallest field (like omsk or bratsk) because you usually have to deal with custom and no one speak english...

Very efficient if you let them know in advance that you need a quick turn - would suggest you use Sreamline for arranging all handling... Don't be surprised if you are greeted by many different shades of a similar uniform, and get asked exactly the same questions by each branch of officialdom, but it's the way things work in their society - everyone has to have a job, and they love form filling!

Rusaero at UNNT, very good!
Been there twice in 6 months. Both times the fuel truck was there waiting for us and the ground time was not more than 30 mins or so...
Cheers!
