the only one is darryl rahn, i'm not near by my office but i will post his references asap.

simuflite uses the falcon 50 for some drills but most of the training has to be done in the plane. If flying in JAA land the falcon 20 type rating is used in lieu of ...

the one and only....

flight Safety in US of A.....in a airplane which has only 34 units, out of production, which was not flown in ANY US corps ( no , the Coast guards do not fly 200, same engines but not the same systems; only the french navy is still flying 200 ( guardian) ). So as a consequence the training is very inconsistent; I do not think that they maintained their procedure trainer.

So for avionics familiarisation, Falcon 50B is used, with one engine out it behaves a bit like the 200, the systems are almost identical... But still, some flying has to be done in the plane, as well as the type rating..

I did my initial and several recurrents with Darrell. He's great in the classroom and even better in the aircraft. Flight time was around 6 hours for the initial with a company trip as part of it. It's up to you to determine how fast you progress.

It's been a few years since I've talked to Darrell, but I believe he has someone working with him on the DA200 now. He's very busy and the new person helps a lot in terms of shortening the wait time. Since he/they are the only people in the world (to my knowledge) certified to train in the type, they do get busy.

I have around 1600 hours in the type and loved it. Yes, the engines can be a pain. But if you run it regular and don't baby it, they seem to run better and more reliably. Our last year of ownership, we did 903 hours. None of it was charter but about 20-25% was time across the Atlantic.

A real fun airplane to fly. Plus, what other corporate aircraft is there flying today that has at least nine aircraft in the fleet that are outfitted with hard points for missles. Ask Darrell for the story on that one.

DA-200

It would be beter to find someone to fly for you instead of getting the type on DA-200 these days? I know one in GR... Miltos!!! He said is a flight instructor, Maybe is also an examiner!
