Wal-mart Aviation

Hi Guys & Gals,

Just out of pure interest, does anyone know if Wal-Mart aviation is a big outfit? What do they operate?

In the UK it used to be a beech 200 out of LBA, there was a lot of talk some heavy iron helping with global domination by Wal-Mart about 5 years but plans got shelved and I think the B200 got sold.

Guys that flew it were from another ....err...shall we say......errrr renowned hawker/falcon owner from Leeds.... who were only to glad to swap in the Beechjet for the Wal-Mart KingAir.

Remember speaking to them at LHR about 9/10 years ago and the future was very bright but now I think they just charter whenever they need anything.

Please dont rely on this info - more than likely out of date.....

Edited to reflect uk ops

The company headquarters in Benton, Arkansas used to operate about 30 learjets. I believe presently it's about 20 aircraft, including several types of Lears, global express, challenger, etc. They fly about fifteen or twenty thousand hours annually. Quite a bit.

Fleet consists of 1 Global and about 20 Learjets, 45s, a40 and 31As. About 75 pilots with flight department based in Rogers Arkansas (KROG). All aircraft fly between 600 to 1000 hours annually.
Wal-Mart also has aircraft based in Canada, Central America and Argentina.
The aircraft based in Leeds was at first a Turbo Commander and later a B200.

The LBA B200 was crewed by a former LBA Beechjet crew, they did not fly the LBA based Hawker or Falcon.

They had a great operation for a few years with the B200 until the Bean counters back in the U.S decided to close down the operation.

As far as I know all the guys concerned are all back in the air earning a living elsewhere.
