Crikey, looks like the 'in' in 'inner' is the same as in 'insecure!'

olster, G-Spot,Reddo, flying.headbutt thanks for your suppport yet I feel you are willing to do better.... My boat is only 32' long and in order to improve this wisdom of mine, I would require further (financial) support. As we all know, size does matter, particularly in my case

So, feel free to send me bank details, credit card (AMEX welcome as well as Diners !!!) or any cash you like to: Devotion to the Enlightened Multiple Options but Non- profit church.

Any amounts, any currency will be of course well spent

G-Spot, you have just been promoted from the (enviable) position of merry follower to marketing director. We just need to find a more "religious" title so we don't "confuse" the merry followers who feel they should give us some or all their $$$. How could I have not thought of accepting Uvair, Worldservice, BP and all other fuel card ?

Duck No offense but unless the keys are the one of an Aston, I think I ll leave the position to you a bit longer. People's gullibility can be very "rewarding" and me and my newly recruited team, intend to be catering for this gap in the market .

Happy days all...

I know AMEX a bit and know why he changed to GA, he wanted to experience again flying. He is an experienced airline pilot. But, it's true that not all airline pilots would fit on GA and that not all GA companies are like the big ones.

On most GA small companies you have to be a really smart guy for day to day Ops, examples are where to order catering, hotel or airport, toilet service where is cheaper, fight with some handlings cause they want to charge you more and so.

From my point of view if you really like flying (many empty legs to play), you don't mind be the baggage guy sometimes and you are a proactive 2 seconds resolutive guy then GA is your job and you will have really fun. Also look at the free time, most GA are standing for 2 weeks on /2 off, do you know how good it is been away from children screaming, dipers changing and supermarket shopping two weeks? it's perfect for a relationship, you never have enough time to build up a dispute about what wall colour to choose for the Living room, when you are back it's already done.

Wise words, wise words...

My philosophy in this regard was always:

Having a nice home means not overstaying your welcome

10 Things I hate about Bizjets

SAVE YOURSELF DONT DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!

Wish I had started in Airlines. 10 Things I hate about BizJets.

1. Have to clean the aircraft yourself even the toilet. Most Cabin Crew in the airlines don't even have to do it.
2. Having to deal with the pax, some are ok others are arses. Can make a flight unpleasant and there is NO door to close.
3. No roster or a very sketchy one, on call 24-7.
4. Some operators, EBJ!, Expect you to work if asked on your days off. Management take an offence if you do not accept!! BE WARNED!
5. I don't think Bizjets operate as professionally as the Airlines.
6. Kiss a lot of ass!! Especially when flying the owner/boss!
7. No life!
8. Be prepared to fork out at least £1500 per month on expenses that you are supposed to get back the following month.
9. Sitting around and doing very little flying you are lucky if you get 400hrs per year. Be prepared to be bored.
10. Be prepared to be a Trolley Dolly!! YEP, you may have to do a tea & coffee service, food, drinks and clear-up. Even if they aren't nice people and pray there are no delays or you have to divert. They don't like having to catch a taxi its just too much for them!

Hope my top ten reasons to stay in an airline has helped to stop you from making a horrible mistake, like I did!!

Regards,
SF.

Sorry missed a few!

Just a few more points to add!

13. Some owners will bore you with tales of the latest aircraft they have just bought as if 5 private jets aren't enough!
14. Having to deal with pax that turn up 2 hours early and expect to be able to fly within 15 minutes.
15. A common saying by those owners who think they know something about flying in IFR condition. "Slot Delays! Why can't we fly VFR surely you are trained for that."
16. 14 hour days, 2 hours flying, 6-8 hrs drinking tea and coffee and eating stale biscuits and 4-6 hours of travelling to work!! Maybe 1 hour off drinking tea and coffee to Hoover the cabin, wash the cups, glasses and dishes, clean the wee off the toilet seat and polish the tables!
17. In some Cessna aircraft the cabin air circulates from the rear to the front. Great thinking Cessna! I nearly stopped flying with a Captain because I though he farted too much. Luckily I realised that it was one of the pax in the toilet. That was a long flight!
18. Be prepared to walk their dogs or walk their children to the toilets in the FBO.
19. They don't like it when other people are late but are happy to keep the pilots waiting at times for over 4 hours. Means you probably won't be home that night, sorry misses!
20. Stay long enough you will probably end up divorced!
21. LPC/OPC in business jets is like getting a driving licence in Saudi Arabia all you have to do is have tea with the examiner, but if he dislikes you then you have to work for it! Not quite that bad but you get the idea.
22. Lots and lots of night stops, where the rain pours no English TV except Sky News and lots of waiting around!
23. At least 6 out of 12 months away from home, bye bye friends and good bye wife!
24. Flying with cowboys who will try and kill you!
25. Very slow career progression! 200-300 hrs is a joke! But not too bad when you dread having to go to work.
26. CRM, what CRM! Does not exist for some people!
27. Being stuck with another pilot for 4 days who only likes to talk about himself.
28. Working with people who are deluded enough to think that BizJets are the best thing since Kebabs and beer in a can (with widget!).
29. Being offered their leftovers as lunch!
30. TEXT "Departing 11:00z", TEXT "Change, they want to go later new departure time 14:00z", TEXT "Change, new departure time back to old time 11:00z", News final departure time 18:00z.

In the words of a great man Forrest Gump, "That’s all I have to say about that".

Air circulation from the rear of the plane! Yeah I experienced that the whole way back from Morocco and we had two female passengers on ours! And they were fit as well!

Another unsatisfied pilot

suhoi27Is it always so unfair to work for "bussiness" mans?
I am a bit frustrated from my job as Chief Pilot for one person owned charter company that is why I need some inputs.First, let me state I never wanted to be airline pilot,HOWEVER>>>>>>:I am about to change my mind..
My only boss-owner thinks he knows every bit of this job, neglects any duty times etc, creates his own rules, change them as per the case and in general the whole picture is total instability which makes people nervous and quite unsure about the whole picture....advice me if you can

1982 and LBD have clearly experienced the bottom feeder end of the market. Trust me, there are far better places than that. The thing is that those of us who work in the good places like it kept secret otherwise those pesky airline people will be wanting in.
