Bizjet opertor wants to build own airport?

Now here is a cunning plan.

From the Macau Daily Times

New charter operator with plan for new airport
Saturday, 21 June 2008

by Nigel Huxtable

The latest entrant into the Macau aviation industry will welcome its first aircraft tomorrow and plans to overcome the space shortage at the International Airport by building its own.
Macau Jet International Co. Limited. is looking to take advantage of the worldwide interest in the SAR by providing direct flights from any destination for those that can afford them.
The company, owned by local businessman and Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference member Ngan In Leng, has leased its first aircraft which is expected to touch down tomorrow afternoon.
The eight seater Falcon 2000 from French company Dassault Aviation will deliver “very rich” customers interested in Macau's tourist sites and casinos from anywhere in the world, said strategic manager of marketing, Zhang Ming.
“We are a very new established company operating private jets,” said Ms Zhang, “our target customers are the very rich.”
The company also managers aircraft for owners in Malaysia, southeast China and Bermuda.
It is so confident of the demand for charter flights to the city it has purchased another two Falcon aircraft to be delivered over the next two years.
The first flight will however only see the aircraft delivered from France as the company is still awaiting an Air Operator's Certificate from the Civil Aviation Authority. It hopes to receive permission to carry paying passengers next month.
Initially the company will have to compete for jet parking space at the tarmac controlled by the Macau Business Aviation Centre at the International Airport. Last year the company told the Macau Daily Times that they did not have enough parking space for private jets and often had to ask pilots to park at Hong Kong's airport.
Macau Jet is hoping to overcome the space shortage by building its own airport, or “Asia Commercial Centre for Aviation”.
Ideally the company will receive the land and permission to build its own airstrip and terminal, however it will depend on the number of square metres it can negotiate from the government, said Ms Zhang.
The proposed location for the complex is also currently “secret”, she said as talks are continuing and no decision has been made.
