Vista Jet cabin crew beware!!

I have to say vista jet is the one of the worst companies I have worked for. The only thing VIP about vista jet are their passengers. Cabin crew expected to work every given hour as there are not FTL's for cabin crew. Salary is very poor and nothing in the lines of what a Vip flight attendant should be paid. If you have only worked for low cost carriers then I guess this is a step up for you but if you have worked in the VIP market before then this is not for you There are no crew meals provided only a daily per diem which if you took that off the salary then you will see how shocking it is. With crew starting duties at 5 am most of the time you miss breakfast at your hotel. There is no oppurtunity to purchase your lunch in a private terminal and with minium pax food on board crew are starving. Crew hotels are cheap "holiday inn" is about as good as you will get and if down route for 2 days and they find a cheaper rate crews rest is disturbed and crew are expected to move to cheaper hotel. There is absolutely no support for the cabin crew cabin crew manager ignores emails and phone calls so its like talking to a brick wall . They even take on cabin crew with no flying experience there is no training provided and your not even in charge of a door!! I met some lovely crew members both cabin and flight crew who I hope escape asap !! Generally crew are unhappy but just waiting for something else and as soon as they find it they will be gone too!!

Hey Queen of the sky,
a former colleague of mine flies for them on the 605. He wants to get out as soon as an opportunity presents itself.
This appears to be the overall mood.
I had had and interview with them some time ago, but didn’t make it.
Knowing now what I know, it doesn’t seem to have been so bad after all.
I hope you have found yourself a different position!!

A lot of people have completed the pilot assessment in Fuerstenfeld and been told that they passed it and would be contacted by the accountable manager Mr. XXXX within the next week, only not to hear anything ever more from them.

I believe its true to say that the HR department is no good. It certainly does not leave behind a professional impression of the company.

Vista Jet!

I completely agree with you Queen of the Sky, and thats not the worst! I heard crew were having to wash dishes in their hotel room toilet!!!!! And that you're based in Nigeria in the worst hotels, cockroaches and everything! Stay clear...

In Nigeria (well at least in Lagos) there are NO good hotels. You can choose between the indifferent "service" at the Sheraton (a disgrace to Sheraton that hotel is), or risk your life on the 90 minute drive to Victoria Island's Ecko (which has two classes of rooms, good and awful). The smaller Protea is a good option. But all in all, all Hotels in Nigeria are nasty and full of roaches.

And also, most executive jet operators are places where people go to work to survive long enough until a better opportunity comes along. Too bad it's that way, it doesn't have to be, but most Management is very disconnected from their operations and their people, much to their long term disadvantage.

Yes jen the brains of the management came up with most ridiculous idea to save money that cabin crew working on the learjet should take the dishes to their hotel rooms and wash them in their toilet rather than paying for the service via handling!! Not very hygienic and if I was paying' 8,000 an hour I would be sick if I thought my dishes were washed in some public hotel bathroom
The cabin crew on the CL fleet could wash them on board after landing with the cost of running a gpu so in the long run it didn't save them anything in fact they would of made a loss!! They post all the new girls in Nigeria and if rostered fairly the most any cabin crew or flight crew member should be there is 2 times a year but fair was never the case!! I heard of one girl who's aircraft was infested with cockroaches when she arrived on duty the company used to put crew based in abuja in the Hilton which all crew were very happy with but management will always find a cheaper option even putting crews safety at risk!!
The crew bus was hijacked in Lagos moments after dropping the crew could of been a close call!!
There is also high chances of contracting malaria which in the worst case may be fatal... and getting hijacked And the only Reason they are based there is no other private operator in europe or Middle East would get crew to work under such conditions!! Even if they doubled the salary it would not be worth while!!

hy guys, I ve just read the Vista requirements on the web page, I post it down here:
Mandatory requirements

Valid JAR ATPL incl. type rating on LR60XR / CL604 / CL605 / CL850 or BD700
Valid JAR FCL Medical (class 1)
Fluency in English
EEC citizenship
Required flight hours:

First Officer:
LR60XR CL300 CL604/605 CL850 BD700
TT 500 1000 1000 1500 2000
Jet 250 500 500 500 1000

can anyone conferm that all the pilots hired recently were all type rated? I some older post I read about type rating by the company and relative bond...
second: may be a stupid question..turboprop housr can be considered as Jet time?

to queen of the sky: I understand your point of view, but think that someone (i.e. me ) use to fly out of Kinshasa avery day! and for much less money...
anyway I gald you found something better if you didn t like it.
ah..fatal malaria..well I got it twice..I hope to live enough to fly a bizjet too!

@tomuchwork

Well if I read your lines you must be a real hero....why you dont make crew planning for example for one or two days hm?
Do you really think they prefer or like it to take the cheapest option for positioning a crew ??
Or why you dont take over the hotel booking for the crew if you know everything better ?
These are just a few examples from your posting which shows that you have absolut no clue what happens behind the scene and in the administrative part of the company and that these people must follow rules as this it is important to keep the costs on a realistic level.

@ flat spin wash dishes in hotel room

Seriously they did you can ask any vista cabin crew I think they have had a bit of cop on since that was imposed...... And they have converted back to the handling agent looking after it but it happened and if you handed it the agent at the time it was de-ducted from your salary!!

Can anybody shed any light on how many of the various orders they've placed in the last two years have actually delivered?

I mean, I'm sure jetnet is wrong, but it says just two of the 34 announced...

Just wondering, that's all.

You can theoretically earn 84k€ per annum flying a flippin' King Air 350 out of Abudja. Have you ever been to Nigeria my friend ?

This is what Vista did in the past (2 years ago in history): sending unsuspecting crews to Nigeria without Visas (occasionally) or any sort of preparation or concept at the total mercy of the client - I hope for the crews involved nowadays that this is no longer happening and this operation is organized the proper way - if the South African Flight Ops Manager is still running the show, chances are high that this might actually be the case - I'll give the man the full benefit of doubt. If you like people pointing AK47's in your face twice every day when passing the airport gate - you will feel at home. Be sure the company presents you their measures of how they will get you out of there, if the hits the fan. Remember: they are sitting in a nice office in Salzburg - you are the one who will feel the pain if it is your unlucky day.

Any update ragards cabin crew conditions at Vistajet? I read pretty bad opinions about this company here on pprune but I would like to know if perhaps the terms and conditions have been improved recently... They offer the opportunity to live in one of their gateway cities around europe which sounds really good to me but I was wondering if any of you has info about salary, destinations etc... PM me if you prefer!

Thanks a lot

Hello folks

I'd second that the post above mine asking how's life with VJ. Any Lear's and Chally's crew online?

Usual Q's: roster, gateway system, taxation etc, etc. I've done my homework here of PPrune and found loads of bashing but mainly related to a precedent management structure. Any serious improvement in the last year or so?

I am sure it's a lot of hard work but this is also the market we are in and I suppose we have to leave with it. Or re-train for a different career...

Many thanks to those that keep us posted.

DK
