Post NBAA 2001 Postponed

Just seen on the NBAA website (www.nbaa.org)
NBAA Board of Directors Statement, 2001 Annual Meeting & Convention Postponed
The Board of Directors of the National Business Aviation Association has today voted to postpone next week's Annual Meeting & Convention with a date and format to be determined in order to redirect the Association's resources toward national recovery and aid to the victims and their families following yesterday's terrorists attacks. NBAA's attention is focused on those companies and individuals affected by yesterday's events.

The Annual Meeting of Members and the meeting of the Board of Directors previously scheduled for September 19 and 20, respectively, will be held in Washington, DC, on a date no earlier than October 17, and no later than November 28, as required by the laws of the District of Columbia and the Association's Bylaws.

Those trade show functions normally affiliated with the Annual Meeting & Convention including information sessions, static display of aircraft, maintenance/operations sessions and convention floor exhibits will not occur in New Orleans next week or in conjunction with the Washington, DC Board Meeting. Additional information will be distributed via Air Mail and NBAA's Web Site at www.nbaa.org as soon as possible.

The Board regrets any inconvenience this may cause but appreciates the support and understanding of the Membership during these extraordinary times.

The Board further directed the staff to work with appropriate government and private agencies to assess the specific needs of the nation in this time of crisis and determine an appropriate and effective NBAA response to those needs.

Recap
The 2001 Annual Meeting & Convention has been postponed.

Business aircraft operators wishing to offer their aircraft and facilities to aid national emergency response should contact the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Currently FEMA is overwhelmed with offers of support, and urges those wishing to offer their services to submit them VIA FAX to (202) 501-1439. Please also fax a copy of your offers to NBAA at (202) 331-8364.

Members are urged not to call FAA air traffic control facilities for status reports during this crisis. NBAA is at the FAA's ATC Command Center in Virginia and is monitoring the national ATC situation. Updates to the status of the National Air System will be posted immediately via Air mail and NBAA's Web site.
