Charter Flight in the US (W-8)

I am hoping some one out there can shed some light on a piece of US administration for me.

My boss has asked me to arrange a charter in the US for a friend of his (so we are effectivley brokering the aircraft) and the company in the US whom the passengers work for have sent through a "W-8BEN" form for me to fill in, which appears to be related to some form of tax.

Not being a tax specialist, does anyone have any experience of this form or what it actually is required for?

Its all a little confusing....

Cheers
