Jeppesen Electronic Chart Service

My company is considering the option of investing in the Jeppview FLitedeck gizmos.
Who is using it ? What is the position of the Authority regarding its use in Public transport ?

Many thanks

e-link ?

Are you meaning hardware or simply the Jeppesen E-link on the internet ?

I have no experience with hardware but the e-link is not good if planning a replacement fo rthe manuals themselves - not one pilot in my company likes the replacement of hte manuals for an internet resource.
The Jeppesen software (sorry can't remember the name) is very good. Used it during training. Probably not workable for commmercial operations though.

In my opinion, an electronic flightbag would be your only option if you do wish to upgrade.

I use it on a Motion Computing M1400 with ViewAnywhere display. Print the approaches before, so I have a paper backup.

It's neat. I use the convinience outlet to power the tablet, so I still have a full battery in the event I have some load shedding to do.

My plane is N-reg, so I follow the sensible FAA rules.

It's a pitty we don't have XM-weather here in Europe. That would be cool, but he, they forgot to specify Mode S uplink at Eurocontrol, so maybe after Galileo they 'invent' something like that.
