Not all happy at Netjets Europe
Word on the street is that the new Vacation Policy hasn't gone down well with the crews.
That and the non existant pay deal has started a lot of people applying to the airlines!
Mike Jenvey anything to say?

Personally I am still very happy. But maybe this is because I fly for the enjoyment of it, not for the salary, ego, time off and crappy chat up lines some flyers use.
No probs whatsoever with NJE.
This sounds like entrapment to me, this post.
Mike, my best advice is donīt even bother replying.
But Iīm sure you already came to that conclusion.
And so starts another great Netjets debate.

Nothing new. Why are you surprise?
At the interview you are told work six days and five days off. When you sign the contract they change it.
I know a pilot who left the company after they cut the pay even though it was agreed in writting. They said he did not have to take the pay cut but he would not be offer another contract.
Now they change the vacation. They do not ask or talk to the pilots they just do it. Just like when they reduce your rest period because the talliban screw up again. They have no respect for their crew as proffessionals.
I know many people who have applyed to airlines and will leave as soon as they can. Me also.
inca. You do not fly for the pay or time off? Lucky you. Then you get all you ask for. Nothing.

Well said Jambalaya.
Not Happy, How can they continue to change our T and C without contacting the crews first.
How much leave do all the other airlines give thier pilots?
Answer: 35-42 days per year!!!!
I have heard on one fleet that 8 people have interviews in the next few weeks, that should open a few eyes.
Bad T and C

T & C
Don't know what planet he's from ( and who cares), but he IS assistant chief NJE cheerleader, soon to be joined by his nemesis, that is to say, if he doesn't follow dinca's own advice and not rise to the bait
Needless to say, any pilot who is happy with his lot and is not concerned about the world-wide deterioration of pay-scales and most especially terms and conditions that affect all professional pilot's, including one's own colleagues who are not independently wealthy, regardless of who his/her employer might be, would definitely be from a universe (never mind the planet) called 'out of touch with reality'

Maybe the policy was just badly presented? We may have to wait until we see what happens in reality. It could be a step in the right direction??? You never know.
My problem is the lack of consulation, the reference to the Operation Policy Manual that no one has access to and the poor level of comunication.
I sometimes feel like a mushroom, kept in the dark and fed sh*t.

PS I still love my job, I just want to be treated with respect.

What we need is some representation, not counseling. And NOT a union.
The new policy states you may be rostered to work upto the start and directly after your vacation. The vacation and work days cannot exceed 22 days. How many days will I work if I take 5 days vacation??
We need a proper explianation.

Hi guy's,
Operation policy Manual is available to each NJE crew member on the company web site.
New vacation policy looks better than the previous one: if you book your vacation from sat to sun next week, you will have to take 5 days of leave and you get 9 (1 we+5 vac+1we). So, it's better than before. As general rule, w-e are off days and not vacation days even in the middle of your vacation period. You will be able to do that at least 4 times a year, giving you 38 days garanteed off.(4x9days + the 2 days remaining).
For those not happy, everybody is free to leave any company, being NJE or any other.
Managment should definitly start to consult the crews before implementing any new policy, but they are ..... like many of them.(at least from the crew's point of view)
Have fun in the sky

Exactly where did you say the Policy was posted? Last I looked on the company website the link was not working. I was told 'It will be done soon'.
Last I asked anybody in Lisbon for an explanation none of them could answer me.
Respect? haha.

I have to report that the Ops Policy is now on the company website.
It is a good document and sets out the company policy is many different areas. It is a shame that the Vacation Policy was released before we were given the vacation scheme.
Maybe the small aircraft pilots will get their long promised pay increase.

Tophe,
Sounds like the new policy is a winner then, if what you say is correct - only 5 days vacation allowance needed for 9 days off. Is that your interpretation of the policy or is that fact?
I am very happy in the job and also pleased not to have to wait 4 or 5 years to upgrade!

policy changes....
Its astonishing how simply re-writing a policy can be imposed on individuals who are employed on specific contract terms ! Change in salaries etc., take it or leave ...

OK.
The company say 22 days vacation plus weekends but they also say you can be rostered up to the 1st day of vacation or from the last so what happen to weekends there?
They say you can not be rostered for more than 22 days in a month vacation and work. If you take all 22 days at once then you work no days that month but if you take 5 days vacation will they roster you to work 17days too?
I was told that this is all due to Portuguese labor law. If so, where are the public hollidays that law says we must have?
So many questions, no answers.

Still no one on the road seems happy with the new vacation policy.
Anyway the pay increase for the small fleets is going to be bought into line with the Hawker, NEVER!
The smaller the plane, the less you get paid despite working harder than the large airplanes.
A friend of mine tells me there is a new Cpt on the C550 that is getting the same pay as a Cit 650 Cpt.
NOW THAT'S EQUALITY!!!!!
NJ
PS Still nothing from Mike Jenvey. Has management got to him???
