Learjet 60 autopilot

I am a simulation enthusiast - I (pretend to) fly a Learjet 60. My question is to do with the use of the pitch function in the autopilot, which seems to be engaged with the SPD button.

To maintain the desired speed, the autopilot changes the pitch of the aircraft - handy, so I'm told, for the climb out at 250 KIAS. I also use it for the descent. Can anyone with the knowledge say whether the autopilot has authority over the tailplane trim, the elevator or both to maintain speed with pitch?

Many Thanks
