Cool Avanti Pay

Hi drageraser

Flew the 'catfish' for a while in the UK. Going rate then was Capt 45k FO 25k both dependent on experience.

Great aircraft to fly and the passengers loved it to!

Why the interest? Im still current if you need a pilot?!

all the best

Hi Viabon

Not sure about Avantair? I know there might be a new start up in Belgium soon using 2 or 3 Avantis. Also Hex Air out of Chambrey have one. None left in the UK which is a great shame.

Happy New Year to you to.

Not sure about the Dublin operator? We helped an operator from Belfast, that was doing a schedule service To Brussels. This might be the one your thinking of? They only lasted a couple of months as demand wasn't high enough.

If you do here of anyone starting up with an Avanti I would appreciate a heads up.

You are right it was about a Belfast operator .

So anyway I remember an Avanti Chief Pilot in Italy called ;

Captain Rambaldi , I think he is in Bologna , a smart guy .

Try , in Germany too , the company is located close to the French

border.

Cheers.

I worked for Foxair in Bologna for a couple of months, great company and fantastic people to work with. The German operator is Air Go, they have my CV!

Hope you get a chance to fly the Avanti again.

All the best

P-180 Q's

Super Ted:

I am interested in setting up an exec transport outfit (possible fractional ownership) and I would like to get some good info on the P-180.

If you can steer me in the right direction to get as much (real as opposed to the usual propaganda) info as possible to make a financial plan, I would be eternally grateful!

Thanks!

Firstly if you want to get a new avanti you better put your name down now! Last I heard the earliest you could get one is late 2006! There a few older models that appear very rarely and go very quickly!

All in all the avanti is a fantastic aircraft capable of giving most smaller citations a run for there money at a saving! The new avanti coming out later this year has the new proline 21 avionics which saves 150lbs on the basic weight. Also it has an increased ZFW and MTOW all of these are much needed improvements. It now enables the avanti to carry a larger load further which is were its weak,(typical load to Malaga from Cov, 5/6 pax with luggage, flight time 3hrs).

If you want accuate DOC costings it's best to cantact Sloane Aviation as they are the UK dealer. Most of the performance figures that are given are accurate.

The avanti took along time to be accepted into the market. But I think now everyone appreciates its cabin size and performance. We were doing on average 60-70 hours a month with one aircraft!

If you need anything else just ask?

All the best with your venture

Thanks Super Ted

I have already contacted Sloane, its a pity that many of these types of aircraft have such a limited range with any kind of a load. I could look up the distance that you quoted but I guess we're talking about a 1000 nm trip in three hours?.

Anyway, I'll wait for the info from Sloane, thanks again for your help, I may turn to you again for info that can only come from a regular operator.

Happy landings!

No prob fluf

1000nm is about right, if you use an average block speed of 340kts you will get accurate flight times.

What you have to remember about the avanti is what its competing against, B200,CJ1-2, Bravo, CI, CII. All of these have the same kind of payload problems. The benefit of the Avanti is that it has a larger cabin by far and matches and beats on speed! You may pay a bit more for the purchase of a new one but it holds it resale value, which is more than you can say about the above aircraft!

Where the avanti comes into its own is over a 2hr mission. We once took of just before a lear 60 from Farnborough to Pisa, when we taxied onto stand the Lear was just shuting down!

Once you get the passengers on the Avanti they love it!

Pan Européenne Air Service, and it's based in Chambéry but is a very frequent visitor to Bron. The operator is a part of Hex'Air, and the P180 is in the same livery as their larger aircraft.

I've only been in the back, where it is far nicer than a small Citation, as well as being a lot cheaper to charter.

Hi gentlemen:
We are a EMS operator base out in Taiwan. We are currently reviewing the P180 and it seem pretty interesting. Just want to know how maintenance friendly is the P180? Is is reliable? Some of the article I read said that it still need some work on the nose gear and also flap drive. Is this still an issue? Does anyone know whether the new avionic will actually be installed.

Best regards
